Our story

A name that connects the atom to the stars.

The name 'Saha Equation' is chosen to honor the eminent Indian physicist Dr. Meghnad Saha and symbolizes the company's focus on building precise, data-driven algorithms and technological formulations.

The Saha ionization equation (1920): how temperature decides the balance between atoms and their ions, the key to reading the temperature of a star from its light.

The equation, in plain words

Heat a gas enough and its atoms begin to lose electrons. The Saha equation predicts exactly how many, from the temperature and the physics of the atom itself. Turned around, it tells you the temperature of a star from the fingerprints its atoms leave in its light.

n
how many atoms are in each state of ionization, and how many free electrons there are
T
the temperature of the gas
ε
the energy needed to strip an electron away
g
the number of ways each state can exist
Λ
a length set by the temperature and the mass of the electron

1893 - 1956

Dr. Meghnad Saha

Astrophysicist, institution builder and public servant. From a village near Dhaka, his work reached the stars, and he spent his life making sure Indian science would follow.

  1. 1893

    Born in Shaoratoli

Meghnad Saha was born on 6 October 1893 in Shaoratoli, a village near Dhaka, into a family of modest means. His education was carried by scholarships and determination.

  2. 1920

    The ionization equation

He published the thermal ionization equation, now known as the Saha equation, explaining how temperature and pressure decide how strongly the atoms in a star are ionised.

  3. 1927

    Fellow of the Royal Society

His work made it possible to read the temperatures of stars from their spectra and became a foundation of modern astrophysics. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society.

  4. 1949

    An institution for India

Believing that science must serve the nation, he built institutions: the National Academy of Sciences, India (1930), and in 1949 the Institute of Nuclear Physics in Kolkata, today the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics.

  5. 1952

    Science in public life

He was elected to the first Lok Sabha and chaired the Calendar Reform Committee that shaped the Indian national calendar. He passed away on 16 February 1956.

Why Saha Equation

What the name asks of us.

Precision

An equation is either right or wrong. We specify, measure and test our software with the same standard.

Data, not guesswork

Saha let the data in starlight speak. Our algorithms and analytics are built from evidence and judged by it.

Every scale

The same law holds for one atom and for a star. Our products must work for the first user and the millionth.

Made in India

Saha proved world-class science could be done in India. We intend to prove the same for technology.

Our objective

What we are here to do

The primary objective of the company is to carry out the business of information technology, software development, web applications, and digital platforms. The company will design, develop, host, and operate internet-based applications, social networking systems, data analytics tools, and algorithmic matchmaking platforms.

Motto: From the atom to the universe, precisely.
